Dale AJ Rose is a professor of acting and the director of performance training at the University of Connecticut, where he has taught since 2005.

Mr. Rose is a professor of acting and the director of performance training at the University of Connecticut, where he has taught since 2005. Also the associate artistic director for the Connecticut Repertory Theatre, he helps students understand their characters and convey the full range of human emotion to make material come alive on the stage. As a former professor and associate professor at the Missouri Repertory Theatre, now known as the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, and the University of Missouri, he brings more than 40 years of experience in education and professional training to his current role.

Prior to joining the University of Connecticut faculty, Mr. Rose taught at Southern Methodist University and the University of South Florida, and was the performing arts coordinator for the Michigan State Council for the Arts. Having been an actor in New York City for a short time as well as a theatre and film critic, he has been able to balance performing and teaching at various points in his career.

With a repertoire that includes all but seven of Shakespeare's plays, Mr. Rose served as artistic director of the Shakespeare Festival of Dallas and worked with such esteemed names as Earle Hyman and Morgan Freeman. Among the numerous plays he has directed are "The Boys Next Door," "Hydrophobia" and "Charley's Aunt." He has also been credited as a screenwriter and was a co-founder of Stage #1 in Dallas, TX.

Mr. Rose holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Michigan State University. In light of his exceptional undertakings, he was selected for inclusion in several editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World.
