Demonstrating impressive academic focus, Mr. Grant earned a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University in 1954. He went on to study finance courses at New York University, Stern School of Business, later supplementing this with work at the Columbia Business School and completing the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
Enthusiastic about his professional goals, Mr. Grant initially worked with Bankers Trust Company in 1954, progressing to branch credit administration in 1958. He subsequently went to work for the Colorado National Bank for 35 years and was elected president in 1975 and Board Chairman in 1986. He joined the board of Plains Petroleum Corporation in 1988. PPC was subsequently acquired by Barrett Resources where he continued to serve as a director until 2000. He also served as chairman of Colorado Capital Advisors from 1989 to 1994 and a member of the Colorado advisory board of US Bancorporation from 1993 to 1999, consistently providing his industry with finely-honed experience.
Exhibiting interest in community outreach, Mr. Grant was affiliated with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Colorado Energy Science Center, the Midwest Research Institute and the Rocky Mountain Nature Conservatory, among other organizations. He was a member of the Board of Denver Museum of nature and Science for many years. He is a member of the Denver Country Club and the ILIFF School of Theology and the Episcopal Church Foundation, consistent in his involvement with a variety of professional and civic areas. Due to his professional contributions, he has been honored in such publications as Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who in the World.
