Born in New Jersey, Ms. Bonanni graduated Stony Brook University (SUNY) of New York in 1974 where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Secondary Education. She also attained certification as a computer electronics technician in 1985 and ESL certification in 1995.
Just out of college, Ms. Bonanni was first hired as a secretary and regional retail newsletter editor for Zayre Corp., now part of the TJX Cos., of Framingham, MA. She soon began to move in and out of opportunities in business writing, expanding her style experience. In 1976, she was a reporter and photographer for "The Beverly Times," now "The Salem Evening News," in Massachusetts. She worked as a marketing communications coordinator for United Shoe Machinery Corp. (formerly of Beverly, MA) in the late 1970's. She also served as a technical hardware writer for 16 years, first at Teradyne, Inc., formerly of Boston, MA, for eight years. She later was a senior writer at both Panametrics, Inc. of Waltham, MA (now part of General Electric Corp.), and at EMC Corp. in Hopkinton, MA.
By 1991, Ms. Bonanni founded her own business, VB Documentation Enterprises, in her town of residence, where she acted as principal writer for 17 years, producing marketing literature, fundraising documentation, composition requests, and resumes. She worked as an agency contract technical writer and as a proofreader for advertising agencies in Framingham, MA.
Inspired by her mother's poetry and love of writing, Ms. Bonanni began writing poetry at the age of 10. Following her self-published first collection, A Blue Perfume, in 1993, Ms. Bonanni became a cooperative publisher between 1993 and 2001, producing a total of nine publications, including the two of her own. She self-published her second collection of poetry, Ad Vivum, in 2001. She edited a collection of her mother's poetry, Dolorata: Looking To The Future, by Dolores Fiore, in 1995; Burning Heads, by Lawrence Carradini in 1996; Hot Moon Night, by Ann Murphy Fletcher, in 1998; and Of Rare Design, by William J. Barnum, a descendant of P. T. Barnum, in 1999, among other works. In recognition of her poetic writing, Ms. Bonanni received an Honorable Mention award from Writer's Digest for each of her books, and second placing in the Cambridge Poetry Festival (of Cambridge, MA) of 2002 for Ad Vivum.
Ms. Bonanni contributed her efforts to the town of Natick, producing a direct mail fundraising at cost in 1997 for the former Kennedy Senior Center of Natick and a voluntarily produced a concert program for the Natick Visiting Nurse Association fundraiser in 1996.
Victoria-Ann Bonanni has been cited in three editions of Marquis Who's Who: Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women, the 27th edition of Who's Who in the World, and the 33rd edition of Who's Who in Finance and Industry for her career as a business writer.
Ms. Bonanni closed her company in 2008 and stays active working for the pharmaceutical retail giant CVS Health as a store associate. As a 7-year cancer survivor, Ms. Bonanni cherishes life, is vocal about fighting the stigma of mental illness, participates in fundraising efforts for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and supports charities that "help the helpless," such as children in need and animal protection. She produces original "one-of-a-kind" greeting cards and enjoys the meticulous work of artifact restoration. Ms. Bonanni also participates in "open mic" poetry readings at venues in Natick.
