ROSE TOWNSHIP, MI, January 08, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Kathryn Fleming with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Fleming celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After working for over 21 years with Ford Motor Company at Wixom Assembly Plant, Ms. Fleming retired from the automotive industry. Towards the end of her time at the plant, she worked as a liaison for Suppliers Quality and a driver for Pre-Delivery. During her time at the company, she also worked in education as a permanent substitute teacher for three school systems. While working at Ford, she was a graduate student and she began writing poems. Ms. Fleming realized she could sit at her grandmother Edna Weier's spinet and write songs in pencil on manuscript paper. Since the turn of the century, she has focused her life on songwriting for both Amerecord and Hilltop Records.

One of the first songs that she wrote was the poem/ballad "Columbine My Columbine." It was immediately after the 1999 Columbine High School Shooting and her son was confirmed at their church. At home she was growing a lovely red-starred Columbine plant and this similar plant was in their church garden. She told her son and he said, "Oh, I thought that you were talking about Columbine High School. The school violence had entered her life so she wrote "Columbine My Columbine." A highlight in her career was being asked to write a Christmas song in 2003. The song was called "Christmas Special Delivery" which was inspired when she saw hardware (ships and other military gear) being shipped to the Mideast. It was much loved by the U.S. Army and Soldiers Radio.

A member of the Academy of American Poets, Ms. Fleming holds a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Arts from Marygrove College. For her outstanding accomplishments, she received a Five-Star Award for the song, "Hit That Home Run" in addition to features in the 58th and 59th editions of Who's Who in America and the 25th edition of Who's Who of American Women. Looking towards the future, Ms. Fleming intends to continue working as a songwriter. It is her dream to have a major artist or trending artist record one of the copyrighted songs.
