LEE, MA, January 08, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Lawrence L. Habermehl, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Habermehl celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Now recognized as a professor emeritus of philosophy Dr. Habermehl taught at the American International College in Springfield, Mass., for many years. Initially serving at the American International College as an assistant professor of philosophy in 1966, he later held the posts of associate professor in 1973 and full professor in 2001. He retired in 2012. Prior to accepting his first appointment on the Massachusetts campus, he completed a teaching fellowship at Boston University between 1965 and 1966. Dr. Habermehl also found success as a house manager for the Boston Seaman's Friend Society between 1963 and 1965.

Dr. Habermehl is the author of the book "The Counterfeit Wisdom of Shallow Minds: A Critique of Some Leading Offenders of the 1980s" in 1994. During the 1980s, American popular opinion was heavily influenced by the ideas of several highly-visible public figures whose views continue to command the respect and endorsement of millions. This book systematically exposes the distortions and misunderstandings that permeate four of these positions. He previously found success as author and editor of "Morality in the Modern World: Ethical Dimensions of Contemporary Human Problems" in 1976.

Involved in numerous professional organizations, including the American Association of University Professors, the American Philosophical Association, the Metaphysical Society of America and Amnesty International, Dr. Habermehl has also been a member of the Association for Informal Logic and Critical Thinking, a non-profit scholarly association that aims to promote research into the teaching of and testing of informal logic and critical thinking. Furthermore, he has been a member of Common Cause, a non-profit nonpartisan grassroots organization dedicated to upholding the core values of American democracy. He has notably been featured in more than 30 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World. Furthermore, Dr. Habermehl earned a Bachelor of Arts from Phillips University in 1959, a Bachelor of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary (NYC) in 1961 and a Doctor of Philosophy from Boston University in 1967.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Lawrence L. Habermehl, PhD, has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
