With more than 30 years of professional experience, Dr. Choon-Woo Nahm has been a professor of electrical engineering at Dong-Eui University since 1990. In addition to his primary roles, he has served on the steering committees of the Research Center for Electronic Ceramics and the Technical Innovation Center from 2002 to 2005. Earlier in his career, Dr. Nahm was a senior researcher with the Samsung Electronics Company, Ltd., and the Institute of Semiconductors from 1986 to 1989.
Dr. Nahm began his career as a student at Ulsan University, where he obtained an electrical engineering diploma in 1981. He continued his studies at Yonsei University, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in 1989. In addition to his educational pursuits, he served with the Korean Army, attaining the rank of a second lieutenant with the Third Military Academy from 1984 to 1985.
A leading voice in his community, Dr. Nahm has been active with a number of professional organizations. He is a member of the Korean Ceramic Society, the Materials Research Society of Korea, the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers, and the Korean Institute of Electrical and Electronic Material Engineers, where he is a lifetime member.
Throughout his career, Dr. Nahm has been recognized for his contributions (field of varistors). He has been featured in numerous honors publications, including Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and International Biographical Centre (IBC).
