Retiring in 2016, Ms. Hilton was a human resources executive who began her 50 year tenure with Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company as an accounts receivable clerk in 1966. Later, she worked for this company as a cashier and the secretary to the vice president of manufacturing before focusing her professional path in human resources. Accepting the position of personnel administrator in 1979, Ms. Hilton embraced her new role in the company, gaining an extensive amount of experience as a result.
Promoted to senior personnel representative soon after, Ms. Hilton would find success as a human resources administrator, a personnel services supervisor and a human resources manager. In 2007, she would excel as the organization's corporate human resources manager, a post she held until her retirement nine years later. Prior to seeking a career at Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company, she earned a Diploma from Catawba Community College in 1966. Ms. Hilton concluded her studies with postgraduate coursework at Catawba Community College between 1979 and 1989 and at Clemson University in 1988.
Ms. Hilton formerly held the role of president of the Piedmont Personnel Association and the American Business Women's Association. She was also affiliated with the Foothills Exchange of American Business Women's Association and the Outstanding Business Woman of Catawba County. Additionally, Ms. Hilton was a member of several other professional organizations, including the Society for Human Resource Management.
Locally, Ms. Hilton served on the board of directors of the Flynn Christian Fellowship Houses and on the advisory board for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Likewise, she was an active member of the steering committee for the March of Dimes and the design development committee for the Hickory Downtown Development Committee. Moreover, Ms. Hilton was appointed to the board of directors and as the chairman of the personnel committee for the Women's Resource Center.
In 1981, Ms. Hilton was recognized as an Outstanding Young Woman by Hickory Jaycettes. She was further honored as the Woman of the Year by the Foothills Exchange of the American Business Woman's Association. Ms. Hilton has been celebrated in many editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in the World.
