Previously Ms. Vermeer was Vice President/Marketing for the Carol Management Corporation during which time she was director of the rental and conversion departments for over 9000 residential apartments and 157 commercial units. She coordinated development and sale of new construction condominiums and the conversion of more than 1600 rental units in various buildings to cooperative ownership. Prior to that position she worked at Douglas Elliman as a residential management supervisor and then Vice President. Over the years she managed 18 luxury rental and cooperative apartment buildings in Manhattan and was the first woman inducted in the New York Building Managers Association. Ms. Vermeer attended New York Real Estate Institute, now known as the New York University-Schack Institute of Real Estate, specializing in Real Estate courses.
Ms. Vermeer is a licensed real estate broker in the State of New York and is qualified to instruct real estate qualifying and continuing education courses. She is also a Notary Public. Ms. Vermeer is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York where she serves on the Board of Directors of the Residential Management Committee. She is also a member of the New York chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women and has served on the Board in various officer positions for CREW and also the Association of Real Estate Women. She currently serves on the CREW Foundation Scholarship Committee and on the committee to select the MGG Scholarship recipients each year.
Ms. Vermeer was named one of the 100 Women in Real Estate by Real Estate Weekly in 2004. Additionally, she was recognized by the Real Estate Board of New York with the Residential Management Community Service Award in 2009 for her service to the Women In Need organization, among others. She also received the Residential Management Executive of the Year Award in 2014 from the Real Estate Board of New York. Considering her exceptional accomplishments, Ms. Vermeer was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Finance and Business, and Who's Who of American Women.
