An economist, Dr. Lind's career has included professorships at major universities, consulting for government and business, service as an expert advisor and witness in major commercial litigation, and the founding and building of a number of consulting and high technology companies. Dr. Lind became a professor emeritus at Cornell University's Samuel Curtis Johnson School of Management in 1999. Throughout more than fifty years in the field, in addition to his academic career, he has maintained an active consulting practice and has served as an expert advisor and witness in cases involving antitrust, regulation, intellectual property and commercial damages. He has testified and presented before governmental agencies and regulators, courts and international tribunals in the US, Europe, and Canada. These include the European Commission, British Office of Fair Trading, the US Federal Trade Commission, US District Courts, US State Courts and international arbitration tribunals.

Representing clients first on his own as a professor and later as a senior consultant or advisor to international consulting firms such as Charles River Associates (CRA) International, CEG Europe, and Cornerstone Research, Dr. Lind and his colleagues apply expertise in economics and finance to address complex issues in disputes involving competition, regulation, intellectual property and commercial damages. Dr. Lind has also cofounded and served on the boards of three high tech companies: Aetherworks, Compound Photonics, and Boulind, Inc.

Dr. Lind was a Professor of Economics, Management and Public Policy at the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University from 1974 to 1999, when he became Professor Emeritus. He began his academic career as an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Washington in 1966. In 1967 he returned to Stanford, where he had received his doctorate in Economics with a minor in statistics, as an Assistant Professor of Engineering-Economic Systems. Engineering-Economic Systems was a small applied mathematics department that subsequently merged with the Operations Research Department. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1969 and became an Associate Professor in the Stanford Graduate School of Business. While at Stanford he served two terms in the Academic Senate and founded and directed the Institute for Public Policy and Analysis before leaving for Cornell.

Dr. Lind has written extensively in his field, having been recognized among the top 5% of actively publishing economists cited in professional literature as determined by Who's Who in Economics. In 1982, he was the lead author and editor of "Discounting for Time and Risk in Energy Policy" published through Resources for the Future, Inc. A collection of theoretical papers, the book also included contributions by four Nobel prize-winning economists: Kenneth J. Arrow, Tjalling C. Koopmans, Amartya K. Sen, and Joseph E. Stiglitz.

Throughout his career, Dr. Lind been involved with the American Law and Economic Association, the American Economic Association, the International Association of Energy Economics, the American Bar Association, the Yale Club of New York and the Cornell Club of New York. The recipient of a Leavey Award from the Freedoms Foundation in 1983, he has notably featured in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who in the East for his success. Dr. Lind holds an undergraduate degree from Yale University and a Doctor of Philosophy in economics from Stanford University.
