Dr. Martine Sauret has been an associate professor of French at Macalester College since 2001.

With nearly 30 years of professional experience, Dr. Sauret has been an associate professor of French at Macalester College since 2001. Alongside her current position, she has been an associate professor of French with Western Michigan University since 1997, having formerly been an assistant professor with the university from 1992 to 1997. From 1991 to 1992, she served as an assistant professor of French at Saint John's University in Collegeville, MN, where she was previously an instructor of French from 1990 to 1991. Earlier in her career, Dr. Sauret was an assistant coordinator with the University of Minnesota from 1989 to 1990.

Dr. Sauret began her career as a student at the Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts and diploma in Russian and Oriental languages in 1980. She then relocated to the United States, where she completed a Master of Arts in French at the University of Minnesota in 1984. She concluded her studies with the university in 1991, earning a Doctor of Philosophy with great honors.

A respected voice in her community, Dr Sauret has been an active leader in her areas of interest. She has contributed to many scholarly publications in various professional journals on Renaissance Literature, early Modern France and Francophone studies since 1991.

Throughout her career, Dr. Sauret has received awards and accolades for her contributions. Awards include fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Newberry Library (Chicago), and the Renaissance Study Association. She is a member of the Modern Language Association, the International Association for the History of Cartography, the Siefar and The CEMS (Center for Early Modern Studies).
