HUNTERSVILLE, NC, January 25, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- T. C. Price Zimmermann has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Having excelled in the field of education for 35 years, Dr. Zimmermann began his career with Reed College as an assistant professor, an associate professor, a chairman of the history department and a professor. Attracted to the field due to his love for medieval and Renaissance history, he subsequently served Davidson College as the vice president of academic affairs while holding the post of professor as well. In the years since, Dr. Zimmermann has served on committees of the National Endowment for the Humanities, the American Academy in Rome, and the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. He himself has held fellowships from the Fulbright-Hayes program, the American Council of Learned Societies, and the Harvard Center for Renaissance Studies in Florence, Italy.
Dr. Zimmermann initially earned Bachelor of Arts degrees from Williams College and the University of Oxford, subsequently obtaining Master of Arts degrees from the University of Oxford and Harvard University. His studies concluded with a doctorate of philosophy from Harvard University. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Zimmermann is affiliated with the Renaissance Society of America, the Society of Italian Historical Studies and the American Association of Italian Studies.
In his spare time, Dr. Zimmermann has dedicated his efforts to philanthropic and charitable endeavors through a number of entities, including Lowell Observatory, the Charlotte Opera Association, the American Alpine Club, the University of North Carolina and the American Academy in Rome, Italy. He authored "Paolo Giovio: The Historian and the Crisis of Sixteenth-Century Italy" and co-edited a volume in the "Collected Works of Paolo Giovio." Due to his outstanding work, Dr. Zimmermann has been recognized many times, accepting The Helen & Stewart F. Blake Philanthropy Award through Opera Carolina, a Presidential Book Award from the American Association for Italian Studies, and the Helene and Howard R. Marraro Book Prize from the American Historical Association.
In a career filled with highlights, Dr. Zimmermann most fondly remembers a personal accomplishment: having made the first ascent of Mt. Skarland in Alaska. He has additionally been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in American Education. Looking toward the future, Dr. Zimmermann intends to continue his philanthropic activities and his assistance to younger scholars.
