Prior to obtaining this role, he served as executive dean of the Ammerman Campus from 2005 to 2009 and assistant vice president of student affairs from 2004 to 2005. Serving as the executive dean of the Eastern Campus from 2000 to 2004, he had previously acted as the dean of faculty at the Ammerman Campus from 1999 to 2000. Earlier in his career, he was appointed as the dean of faculty at the Grant Campus from 1997 to 1999, having been associate dean at the Ammerman Campus from 1987 to 1999. Beginning his career as a college counselor at Suffolk County Community College in 1967, Mr. Connors contributed his skills as an assistant professor from 1972 to 1973, assistant dean of the Ammerman Campus from 1973 to 1986 and acting dean of students from 1986 to 1987.
Prior to embarking on his career, Mr. Connors pursued an education at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in 1966. He continued his academic efforts with Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts, completing a Master of Education in 1967. After obtaining some experience in the field, he returned to his studies at Long Island University in Brookville, New York, earning a Master of Public Administration in 1980.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Connors has been recognized for his many contributions in his field, including having been named Three Village Man of the Year in education in 2002. He has also been featured in numerous honors publications, including Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World.
