Peterson with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Marie K. Peterson celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Backed by 40 years of musical experience, Ms. Peterson currently serves as a pianist for weekend Masses. At the beginning of her career, she taught vocal and instrumental music in Wisconsin at Sturgeon Bay High School and upon moving to Michigan, she worked for St. Anne's Catholic Church as director of the Adult Choir. In the years since, Ms. Peterson contributed to St. Anne's Catholic Church as Director of Music Ministries.

Additionally, Ms. Peterson found success in accounting and printing with Louisiana-Pacific, screen printing at Weissert's Screen Printing and substitute teaching music in the Escanaba Area Schools. An expert in her field, she earned a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Peterson was affiliated with the National Pastoral Musicians, the Diocesan Music Association and the Keyboard Guild Association.

During her spare time, Ms. Peterson has dedicated her efforts to "Pete and Re-Pete," an entertainment event that she hosts with her husband, George, as well as the Elks Lodge, Eagles Club, Kiwanis Club, and various veterans events. She has also been involved in over 40 musicals with her community theatre group Players de Noc, Inc. since 1966 as either director or pianist/accompanist. She directed Players' first musical, "The Music Man" in the Fall of '66 and this year will be playing keyboard for their musical, "Gypsy."

For her excellence in the field, she was recognized among the Outstanding Young Women in America. Looking toward the future, Ms. Peterson intends to continue fostering her love of music as a pianist.
