An accomplished listee, Ms. Telser celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Ms. Telser is a retired communications consultant and who was in business for herself as the president of Telser Communications for 10 years from 1992 to 2002. She formerly served as the director of communications for the Mental Health Association of Greater Chicago from 1987 to 1992. Many years earlier, Ms. Telser was a caseworker for the Salvation Army Family Service in Chicago from 1960 to 1964.

Becoming involved in her field as the result of her parents' influence, Ms. Telser's mother was a longtime volunteer art teacher at Francis Parker School and at a local psychiatric hospital. Her father was a businessman who served on the board of the Drexel Home for the Aging. Both active with the United Fund, they served on the committee that decided how to allocate funds. Brought up by Tikkun Olam, a Jewish concept defined by acts of kindness performed to perfect or repair the world, this has equally affected her focus on social action and social justice as an adult.

Ms. Telser was very active with the League of Women Voters of between 1965 and 2002. Although this was volunteer, it was a major part of her career. She served on the Illinois State Board as Social Policy Chair and of the Mental Health Task Force between 1982 and 1989. She lobbied the Illinois legislature and conducted a yearlong, statewide study of Public Policy on Mental Illness in Illinois.

As director of communications for the Mental Health Association of Greater Chicago 1987-1992, she authored numerous articles and booklets, organized conferences entitled "Contents Under Pressure" and edited the newsletter "In Touch". She was also active on the advisory board of the Community Counseling Center of Lakeview and published their newsletter.

In San Diego, Ms. Telser has devoted time to her local community as president of the Humanistic Jewish Congregation; secretary of the Rancho Santa Fe Democratic Club; Rolling Readers board member, reading tutor and newsletter editor; Jewish Family Service Teen Mentor and advisory committees of the San Dieguito River Park and for the Del Mar Fairgrounds Master Plan.
Honored with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Village of Wilmette in 1987, Ms. Telser later received an RSVP Ross Intergenerational Award in 2000. She has been included in the third edition of Who's Who Among Human Services Professionals, the 60th edition of Who's Who in America and the 25th edition of Who's Who of American Women.

Ms. Telser attended the Francis W. Parker School, a community-focused, independent school that serves students in the Chicago area from kindergarten through 12th grade. She later completed a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, at Radcliffe College in 1958, followed by a Master of Arts in social services administration at the University of Chicago in 1960. She was certified through the Academy of Certified Social Workers between 1962 and 2000.
