A recognized data expert, Dan Anderson brought about numerous creative ideas to Arizona's public education system.

TEMPE, AZ, February 01, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Dan Anderson with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Anderson celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Anderson retired in 2018 as the director of institutional research with the Arizona Board of Regents, the governing body of Arizona's public university system that provides policy guidance to Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, the University of Arizona and their branch campuses. Overseeing a host of responsibilities during his 16-year tenure, including providing support to various research activities and collaborating with the universities, Mr. Anderson also coordinated the development and delivery of data by the board and federal and state governments and provided statistical support, among other duties. He formerly spent 27 years with the Arizona Department of Economic Security in Phoenix, AZ, as a staff economist, senior economist and research administrator, beginning in 1975.

Devoting more than 40 years to the state, Mr. Anderson specialized in regional economic analysis and forecasting, corporate planning and impact analysis, management information systems and computer system review and application. A recognized data expert, he brought about numerous creative ideas to Arizona's public education system through new data and reports that informed the work of the board and Arizona's public universities, as well as education through the continuum. He also notably developed the first analytical tool, alongside his colleague, which enabled Arizona and other states to more accurately gauge educational attainment among citizens earning a certificate or professional license. This tool informs attainment efforts across the country and in Arizona.

Mr. Anderson has lent his expertise as a consultant in his field, has been sought after for speaking engagements on the topics of higher education and data, and has contributed multiple articles to various scholarly journals. He also served as a member of the inter-agency policy committee and financial advisory committee for the State of Arizona, held various positions up to president in 1996-97 for the Arizona Economic Roundtable, and was a member of the Economic Estimates Commission that projects state and local expenditures in relation to personal income.

Furthermore, Mr. Anderson served as a trustee for his alma mater, Blackburn College, and has been a longtime member of multiple organizations, including the Western Regional Science Association, the American Economic Association, the Arizona Economic Roundtable, the National Association for Business Economics and the Arizona Economic Estimates Commission.

The recipient of the nationally recognized Vladimir Chavrid Award, Mr. Anderson was very proud of the achievement, which was granted by the Interstate Conference Employment Security Agencies in 1991. He also received an Internship Award from the U.S. Department of Labor in 1979. He has notably been cited in the 27th edition of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, as well as several editions of Who's Who in the West.

Originally a mathematics major, Mr. Anderson was curious how the field could be applied to other areas of business. Deciding to earn a double major, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and economics from Blackburn College in 1974. Accepted to several graduate schools, he then completed a Master of Science in economics from Arizona State University in 1976. Three years later, he completed the Management Systems Program at Harvard University.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dan Anderson has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
