Retired as a teacher following 36 years of exemplary service, Ms. Geringer worked for the Oak Grove School District in San Jose, CA, from 1972 to 2008. She also excelled as a teacher for Craven County Schools in North Carolina and the Charter Oak Unified School District in California between 1967 and 1971. Likewise, Ms. Geringer held the position of an associate professor at California Polytech State University from 1971 to 1972.

Throughout her career in education, Ms. Geringer was actively involved with several school committees and boards. She also volunteered as an instructor for the American Red Cross in Santa Clara County, Calif. for 47 years, having chaired the organization's first aid service team. Furthermore, she served as a CPR and first aid instructor for the Good Samaritan Hospital. During her many years with the American Red Cross, Ms. Geringer contributed to the shelters during times of crisis, including fires, floods and other natural disasters, as she found her work with those less fortunate to be a very rewarding experience.

Ms. Geringer authored her first book in 1983, titled "Taking Care of Business." She also edited OGEA Sounds between 1977 and 1979. Ms. Geringer is additionally affiliated with the California Teachers Association, the Oak Grove Educators Association and the California Association of Counseling and Development.

Honored several times for her work, Ms. Geringer was notably recognized as a Mentor Teacher by the Oak Grove School District. She was also presented with the Glenn Hoffmann Exemplary Program Award and a Certification of Appreciation Award for her tireless efforts by the American Red Cross. Moreover, Ms. Geringer has been selected for inclusion in the 15th edition of Who's Who of American Women.

Ms. Geringer initially pursued an education at Antelope Valley College, earning an Associate of Arts in 1965. She continued her studies with a Bachelor of Science in 1967 at the California Polytechnic State University. Certified as an emergency medical technician and a notary public, Ms. Geringer concluded her academic efforts at California Polytechnic State University in 1972, graduating with a Master of Science.
