The ICC Industries group of companies today includes manufacturers Dover Chemical Corporation (specialty chemicals), Primex Plastics Corporation (plastics), Konsyl Pharmaceuticals Inc, (health supplements) and SC Azur SA (paints) as well as ICC Trading Inc. (trading and distribution). Additionally, Dr. Farber served as the chairman of Frutarom Industries Ltd. (flavors and ingredients) from 1996 until its merger with IFF in 2018. In the early years of his career, he gained valuable expertise as a consultant to various companies including Asahi Chemical Industries Company Ltd. in Japan, Society des Peintures et Vernis Bouvet in France, Foster Grant in Massachusetts, and Kömmerling Chemische Fabrik Gmbh in Germany.
In a career filled with highlights, Dr. Farber is especially proud of building his life from the ground up. When he lived in his native country of Romania, his family's business, which produced, marketed and sold paints, was taken over by the state after the Second World War. His family fled, and he has worked in the United States ever since. However, through his work with the Chamber of Commerce, he traveled back to Romania at a later date and purchased back the family business, which is now part of the ICC Industries group.
An expert in his field, Dr. Farber holds a Master of Science from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca in Romania and a Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, now known as the New York University Tandon School of Engineering. In order to remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliations with the American Chemical Society, the Plastics Industry Association, the Society of Plastics Engineers, which awarded him a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018, the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers and the Chemical Manufacturers Association.
For his excellence in the field, Dr. Farber has been recognized many times, earning features in Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
