He began his career an account executive trainee at Foote Cone & Belding. Working his way up in the company, he eventually established Colangelo Studios Inc. as a senior vice president as well as his own company, Ted Colangelo and Associates, in 1968. Mr. Colangelo has also excelled as the senior vice president and the director of Singer & Cole as well as the chairman and the director of the SlideMakers.
Mr. Colangelo was originally inspired to pursue his professional path by his father, who owned a graphic design firm. Demonstrating considerable professional ability, he has participated in several prominent graphic competitions, accruing awards from such organizations as the New York Art Directors Club. He has also been honored by Communication Arts Magazine, among other companies. Notable for his unmatched executive abilities, Mr. Colangelo is proud of the fine creative staff he worked with, and impressively managed over 200 employees at one point in his career.
Interested in maintaining professional connections, Mr. Colangelo is a founding member of the Advertising Club of Westchester. He was further appointed to the board of directors for Weston Field and the board of directors for Court Art Directors. He also has been affiliated with the Connecticut Art Directors, Weston Racquet and the Advertising Club of Fairfield. Moreover, Mr. Colangelo completed service in the United States Army from 1957 to 1958.
