Born in Salina, Kansas in 1946, Mr. Lytle began his career as a high school substitute teacher in 1969. After completing his Bachelor of Arts in forensic studies and political science at Indiana University and completing service in the Military Police Corps of the U.S. Army, he began teaching criminal justice for such institutions as Cleveland State Community College, the University of Tennessee and The Texas A&M University System, where he has worked as assistant director of government relations and special assistant to the chancellor for federal relations. He later served Syracuse University in a variety of research administration and federal relations roles over the course of five years. Over the years, Mr. Lytle has found success in roles of increasing responsibility with The Erik Alexander Group, Marymount University, Science Applications International Corporation, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and the National Institute of Justice, where he currently serves as a consulting criminalist panelist/reviewer.

An expert in his field, Mr. Lytle earned a Master of Education from Texas A&M University in addition to his undergraduate degree. He also obtained graduate certificates from the University of California, Riverside and Sam Houston State University, and professional military education from the US Army Command & General Staff College and the National Defense University. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he is affiliated with the American Association for the Advancement of Science, International Association of Chiefs of Police, Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, American Criminal Justice Association, and International Association for Identification. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Mr. Lytle contributed on the editorial board of the Journal of Technology Transfer and has authored a plethora of articles for professional journals.

For his outstanding achievements, Mr. Lytle has accepted many honors over the years, including the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart medals. Mr. Lytle was recognized as a 2003 Distinguished Alumnus at Sam Houston State University. He has been additionally selected for inclusion in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America. Looking toward the future, Mr. Lytle intends to continue parlaying his knowledge to others through his role as a consultant.
