Earlene Robinson Price Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Earlene Robinson Price received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor of New York City and a Citation of Honor from the Borough Presidents of Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn.

An accomplished listee, Ms. Price celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Ms. Price served as the city registrar and director of the division of vital records for the New York City Department of Health for five years, retiring in 1995. She was the first African American and the second female to serve in this position. Promoted to her most recent position in 1990, she formerly served three years as the assistant director of vital records. Ms. Price's career formerly included working at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as the director of records from 1981 to 1987 and the New York City Department of Health as the secretary to the commissioner from 1978 to 1981. She also notably consulted for the Department of Health during 1996.

While working at the Department of Health, Ms. Price attended night school to earn her undergraduate degree so that she could move up in her career. Motivated by earning the opportunity to acquire a civil service job that provided stability, she later passed the administrative managers exam, which enabled her to work in the medical examiner's office. She notably earned a Bachelor of Arts from Queens College, City University of New York, in 1979.

Ms. Price is a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Association of Vital Records and Health Statistics (now known as the National Association for Public Health Statistics and Information Systems) from 1990 to 1995, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Phi Zeta Zeta Chapter. Involved with several local organizations, she formerly served on the board of directors of the Jamaica Service Program for Older Adults in Jamaica, NY, was a board trustee at New Jerusalem Worship Center, and tutor for the Rush Temple African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church afterschool program in Jamaica, NY.

Honored numerous times in 1992, Ms. Price received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor of New York City, Citation of Honor from the Borough Presidents of Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn and was named Professional of the Year by the Brooklyn and Long Island Funeral Directors Association. She earned Certificates of Appreciation from the New York City Department of Health, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the New Jerusalem Worship Center. She has been cited in several editions of Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.

Born in Mississippi, Ms. Price grew up in Ohio before moving to New York at the age of 15. Today, she is the proud mother of one daughter. She also has three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
