An accomplished listee, Dr. Solomon celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Dr. Solomon was inspired to a career in medicine through his own experiences with polio in his childhood as well as his father's experiences as the only person in his family to survive Auschwitz and come to America. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1958, he earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, in 1962. Following these accomplishments, Dr. Solomon held an internship with the Tufts Medical Center at Tufts University in Boston.

From there, Dr. Solomon completed a residency in internal medicine and at the Boston City Hospital and a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism from the School of Medicine at the University of Washington. After these appointments, he joined the College of Medicine at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center as associate dean of research in 1983. Today, he works with the University of Tennessee as a professor emeritus and with the Memphis VA Medical Center as chief of endocrinology and metabolism. Throughout his career, Dr. Solomon has experienced many highlights, most notably, receiving the Founder's Medal in 2010 from the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation and being accepted by Dr. Williams as his personal fellow.

Licensed to practice medicine in Tennessee, Washington and California, Dr. Solomon has affiliated himself with many organizations over the years in order to keep abreast of developments in the field. A fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, he also holds membership with the American Society for Clinical Investigation, the American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, the American Federation for Medical Research and many others. Utilizing his industry expertise, Dr. Solomon helped to co-edit "The Lab in Clinical Diagnosis," and has contributed over numerous articles and abstracts to professional journals.

For excellence in his career, Dr. Solomon won 1st Place for Excellence in Clinical Research from the Memphis Area Health Industry Councils in 1994 and has been a Veterans Affairs and National Institutes of Health grantee since 1965. In light of all his accomplishments, he has previously been featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare. In the coming years, Dr. Solomon intends to experience continued success in his positions with the Memphis VA Medical Center and the University of Tennessee.
