Jane E. Goff Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    GOLDEN, CO, February 14, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jane E. Goff with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Goff celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. A former French teacher for the Jefferson County (Colorado) Public Schools, Ms. Goff excelled as a teacher of French, Spanish and English language arts. During her 34-year teaching career, Ms. Goff also served as coordinator for the district's World Language and International Student Exchange Program. She had multiple opportunities to chaperone her students through Europe, an experience she cherishes to this day.

In addition to serving as president of the Jefferson County Education Association and vice president of the Colorado Education Association, Ms. Goff was the project director for Jeffco Schools' Administrator and Teacher Alternative Compensation Pilots and was appointed to several school district groups, including the Student Outcomes Task Force, the Columbine Anniversary Committee, the Jeffco Schools 50th Anniversary Steering Committee, and the School Finance Task Force. By virtue of her association positions, she was a member of the State Anchor Group and Colorado's National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Workgroup. Locally, she served on the board of directors of the Jefferson County Council Parent-Teacher Association, and the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra as vice president for education programs.

Ms. Goff was elected to the Colorado State Board of Education in 2008. She served a total of five years on the Board of Directors of the National Association of State Boards of Education, and as Chair of the Board in 2014. She has been a member of NASBE's New Member Mentor Group and the Editorial Advisory Board. She currently serves on the Governmental Affairs Committee, and is her State Board's appointed contact to the Colorado legislature.

As part of NASBE's work in the area of student safety and wellness, Ms. Goff authored an article, "Lessons from Columbine", which appears in the January 2019 edition of The State Education Standard. The article is Ms. Goff's narrative reflection on the Columbine High School tragedy from her perspective as a teacher leader. The tragedy, set to mark its 20th anniversary in 2019, occurred during Ms. Goff's term as president of the Jefferson County Education Association.
Ms. Goff is a member of the National, Colorado, and Jefferson County Education Associations, the Colorado Congress of Foreign Language Teachers, and the American Association of Teachers of French, among others.

Ms. Goff has been selected for inclusion in numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women. Earning an undergraduate degree at

Colorado State University in 1971, she later concluded her studies with graduate work in counseling and administration.
