At the inception of his career, he joined the Medical College of Virginia as an intern before pursuing a residency and fellowship with the University of Minnesota and VA Hospitals. Thereafter, he gained valuable expertise in medicine through his work with Allegheny Gastroenterology, the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, the E.J. Noble Hospital and River Hospital, Alexandria Bay, NY, where he is a member emeritus of the board of trustees. Though his career is filled with highlights, the one that stands out as a crowning achievement was a 10-year study of the Navajo Nation and their high mortality from bile diseases related to abnormal cholesterol metabolism that he conducted with support of the National Institutes of Health.

An expert in his field, Dr. Gregory holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Virginia. In order to remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He was president of Allegheny County Medical Society. With this extensive experience and knowledge, he has contributed more than 100 articles on hepatocellular metabolism and clinical gastroenterology to the medical literature.

For his professional excellence, Dr. Gregory has been featured in publications such as Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in Science and Engineering. In addition, he was the recipient of the American College of Gastroenterology William Rorer Award in 1972.
