CLINTON, WI, February 22, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Anita Thurin Wildermuth with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mrs. Wildermuth celebrates many years of experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With more than 35 years of professional experience, Mrs. Wildermuth retired in 1998, having been an art teacher with the School District of Beloit in Wisconsin since 1966. Prior to obtaining this role, she served as a teacher of art with the Viroqua Area Schools in Wisconsin from 1962 to 1966. Earlier in her career, she worked as an art teacher with the Dodgeville School District in Wisconsin from 1961 to 1962. In addition to her primary roles, Mrs. Wildermuth has been active as a supervisor of art with the School District of Beloit, owner of the Thurin Apartments in Viroqua, Wisconsin, and secretary-treasurer of Wildermuth Farms Inc. in Clinton.

Mrs. Wildermuth began her career as a student at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in 1961. After obtaining some experience in the field, and taking 30 art credits at UW-Madison, she returned to her studies with Rockford University in Rockford, Illinois, earning a Master of Arts in teaching in 1977. Mrs. Wildermuth is certified as a teacher in the state of Wisconsin.

A leading voice in her field, Mrs. Wildermuth has been affiliated with a number of organizations in her community as well. An emergency medical technician with the Turtle Fire Department near Beloit, Wisconsin, from 1980 to 2005, she has also been a member of the University of Wisconsin Extension Homemakers Council and the Southern Wisconsin Interest Macintosh Computer Society. Furthermore, she has been active with the Wisconsin Art Educators Association, the National Art Education Association, the National Farmers Organization, The Art League of Beloit, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, the Janesville Art League and the Beloit Area Retired Educators Association. After retirement, she chaired the NO-Till Farmers Women's Program for many years. This involved planning a daily program. Lectures and demonstrations on varied subjects from bookkeeping for farmers, estate planning, flower arrangements, bookmaking, toys from trash, make-up application, quilts, health, workshops and entertainment options that started at 8AM and ended at 10PM. The program is held in many different cities in the Central U.S. Another retirement program S.L.U. (Society for Lifetime Learning) organized by Beloit College offers new skills, enhances emotional and mental health and provides a more meaningful life. Mrs. Wildermuth joined and volunteered to teach art related classes.

Mrs. Wildermuth's sister was born with Cerebral Palsy which prevented her from walking and using the left side of her body. In the mid 70's their parents were having many health concerns and could no longer care for her in the home. One of Mrs. Wildermuth's proudest achievements was the vision she had for starting what has become V.A.R.C. (Vernon Area Rehabilitation Center). V.A.R.C. provides services in the community to help families by giving persons with varied abilities employment, allowing them to have the feeling of accomplishment and pride and families a chance to have time to take care of their personal needs. The ideas she had were shared with the pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. He took the ideas and gave them to leaders in the community who also shared the same concerns and within two months V.A.R.C. started in the church basement. V.A.R.C., founded in 1975, with strong and steady growth, has spread to nine counties in western and South-Central Wisconsin serving over 650 clients with diverse abilities. It is affiliated with numerous organizations and industries, V.A.R.C. provides excellence in services for both people and businesses. This includes daycare services, family homes with 24-7 care, transportation, employment for all abilities with paycheck for all.
