Peter J. Ryerson Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    AKRON, OH, February 22, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Peter J. Ryerson with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Ryerson celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. In 1974, Mr. Ryerson earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from LaSalle University, following this achievement with a Master of Business Administration from the university in 1980. He initially worked as an industrial engineer for Standard Press Steel from 1966 to 1970, going on to serve as a management engineer at the Pennsylvania Hospital and senior management engineer at the Albert Einstein Medical Center. As his career progressed, Mr. Ryerson worked as director of the Akron General Medical Center, senior manager of the Peat Marwick Main Company, and as a health care consultant with his own company, Ryerson Management Associates, until his retirement in 2012.

Interested in civic outreach, Mr. Ryerson was chair of the energy committee at Pennsylvania Hospital from 1980 to 1983. He also served with the United States Army from 1959 to 1963, spending 14 months in the Republic of Korea. Now an accomplished member of his industry, Mr. Ryerson initially pursued his current field because he was curious about the cost of hospital procedures, and he has contributed many articles to professional journals in his field. He was notably the recipient of the Richard Allen Literary Award from the American Association for Respiratory Care in 1986.

Mr. Ryerson is the former president of the Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society and maintains membership with the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers. He is also president of the David Hamilton Ryerson Memorial Foundation. In light of his prominent work in the field, Mr. Ryerson was featured in the 21st edition of Who's Who in the Midwest.
