Dr. Dusseau also served as the founding coordinator for the Master of Engineering Management Program at Rowan University from 2007 to 2017. Dr. Dusseau serves as a mentor and advocate for transfer students at Rowan University. Prior to his current positions, he worked at Wayne State University as an associate professor from 1991 to 1995 and an assistant professor from 1985 to 1991. A staff estimator for Bechtel Power Corporation in 1978, he additionally held a number of positions with Michigan State University, including as a graduate research assistant from 1980 to 1985, a graduate teaching assistant from 1979 to 1983, and an undergraduate teaching assistant in 1977. Dr. Dusseau began his career as a design aide with Johnson and Anderson, Inc. from 1976 to 1977 and a bookkeeper with Bels Produce Company, Inc., from 1972 to 1975.
Dr. Dusseau initially pursued an education at the University of Michigan in Flint and then transferred to Michigan State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in 1978. He continued his studies with a Master of Science in 1981, also at Michigan State University. He concluded his academic efforts at Michigan State University in 1985, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy. Dr. Dusseau is a registered professional engineer in the state of Michigan.
A leading voice in his industry, Dr. Dusseau has been active with a number of professional organizations. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute, and the American Society for Engineering Education. A former consultant for Ghafari and Associates, Dr. Dusseau has authored 17 refereed journal articles and 36 refereed conference papers.
Throughout his career, Dr. Dusseau has been celebrated for his contributions. He has been notably presented with nine educational awards, six service awards, and 13 biographical citations. Moreover, Dr. Dusseau has been featured in numerous publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
