Woodrow W. Everett Jr., Ph.D., Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Dr. Everett has been Chairman of the Northeast Consortium for Engineering Education (NCEE) in St. Cloud, FL, since 1976 with offices in Bridgeport, New York; St. Cloud, Florida; and Port Royal, VA. He was previously director of the Post-Doctoral program at the Rome Air Development Center in New York; Research Engineer at the Ithaca Research Laboratory of the Atlantic Research Corporation in New York; and Project Engineer the Scott Paper Company in Mobile, AL.

Dr. Everett serves on the Board of Directors of several organizations, including Masonwood, Incorporated, Sunoric Corporation; ITG, Incorporated, Thrash Homestead Corporation and The CHERWOOD Corporation. He was also active in his local community, serving as president of the Village of Groton, NY Appeals Board, chairman of the Groton Planning Board, and democratic committeeman in Madison County, NY.

The author of dozens of scholarly journal papers in his area of expertise, Dr. Everett also authored eight books and, for 25 years, published the Computers in Education JOURNAL. He is a Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Life Member of the Air Force Association and the Reserve Officers Association, a longtime member of the American Society for Engineering Education, and local Rotary Clubs.

Dr. Everett has been cited in approximately 40 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in the World. He has held a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from The George Washington University since 1959 and a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy from Cornell University since 1965 and 1968, respectively. He is a retired Colonel, having served in the U.S. Air Force between 1959 and 1990, with extended active duty from 1959-1962.

Born in Newton County, MS, Dr. Everett married Cherry Donna Sarff in 1958. They have two children, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He and his wife purchased the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Memorial Hall in St. Cloud, FL, as a derelict and restored the building, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. They also purchased old Port Conway in King George County, VA , restored the property as the birth place of U.S.A. President James Madison; this property, now a Commonwealth of Virginia Scenic Preserve, is known as Cherwood Pond.
