In the late 1960s, Ms. Schumacher began her career in the field of education as a teacher with San Manuel High School. After two years, she continued her career at Flowing Wells High School, where she excelled as a teacher until 2001. Over the years, she also found success as the director of the Math and Parents Partnership Program at the University of Arizona. In a career filled with highlights, Ms. Schumacher is especially proud of improving leadership in the mathematics department at Flowing Wells High School.

An expert in her field, Ms. Schumacher has earned a Bachelor of Science from Maryville State University and a Master of Science from the University of Arizona. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, she is affiliated with the Consortium for Mathematics, the Arizona Teachers of Mathematics, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the National Education Association. Utilizing her industry knowledge, Ms. Schumacher has co-authored math curriculum books for parents under the University of Arizona's Math and Parents Partnership Program.

Due to her professional excellence, Ms. Schumacher accepted a Teacher of the Year Award in 1995 as well as a fellowship from the Growth Initiatives for Teachers. Likewise, she has been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who of American Women. Looking toward the future, Ms. Schumacher intends to enjoy her retirement.
