JACKSONVILLE, TX, March 14, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present James Carl Blaylock, DD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Blaylock celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Blaylock is a former clergyman and librarian who recently retired from both fields in 2018 after working for more than 55 years. Becoming a pastor at Mount Pleasant Church in Bedias, TX, in 1962, Buena Vista Church in Timpson, TX, in 1964 and the First Baptist Church in Maydelle, TX, in 1970, Dr. Blaylock then earned an opportunity to work for Baptist News Service in Jacksonville, TX. Hired as an assistant director and then director, he spent 30 years with the religious organization between 1969 and 1999. During his tenure, he simultaneously pastored at Corinth Church in Jacksonville between 1986 and 2018. He was also a librarian at the Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary in Jacksonville from 1972 to 2018, where he was responsible for increasing the number of books from 4,000 to 85,000.

During Dr. Blaylock's career, he spent nearly 20 years as the assistant editor of the "Directory and Handbook of Baptist Missionary Association" from 1969 to 1988 before serving as editor for another 11 years between 1988 and 1999. Many years earlier, he was the editor for "the Evangel" for the Mount Olive Baptist Association (Texas). He also authored "History of First Baptist Church of Maydelle, Texas" in 1966, "Buena Vista Baptist Church" in 1986, and "Glimpses from the Past" in 2003. He is notably a longtime member of the American Library Association, the Texas Library Association and the American Theological Library Association.

Unsure of what he wanted to do in his career, it was not until Dr. Blaylock became a student at Southeastern Baptist College that he realized he wanted to become a pastor. Receiving an Associate of Arts in 1962, he also became ordained to ministry through the Baptist Church that same year. He then received a Bachelor of Theology from North American Theological Seminary in 1964, Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1976, Master of Religious Education from Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary in 1977, Master of Science in library science from Texas A&M University in 1980, and Doctor of Divinity from Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary in 2011.

Dr. Blaylock has been showcased in approximately 40 editions of Who's Who. He has been cited in every edition of Who's Who in America since 1994, as well as the fourth edition of Who's Who in Religion and numerous editions of Who's Who in the South and Southwest.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, James Carl Blaylock, DD, has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
