Jennings Bunch Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

In a career filled with highlights, Jennings Bunch is especially pleased of being recognized as a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

    ELVERSON, PA, March 18, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jennings Bunch with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Jennings Bunch celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Beginning in 1973 he joined the GE Power Systems Management Department in Philadelphia, PA. He was responsible for developing functional specifications and application engineering for the first distribution automation project by GE. He followed this project through to completion in GE's Corporate Research and Development. This was the PROBE Project for substation and feeder automation at an electric utility in the Midwest of the USA. He was responsible for the functional specification development and for the application engineering prototype distribution automation system developed in the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Project for an Integrated Distribution Control and protection System, which was installed and demonstrated at an electric utility substation near Fort Worth, TX. He was the principle investigator in another EPRI Project, which led to the development of an economic evaluation methodology for distribution automation systems. This work was published by EPRI as "Guidelines for Evaluating Distribution Automation." From 1985 until his retirement for GE, his principle assignment was as a senior application engineer responsible for application engineering of GE prototype relaying products. Since retiring from GE, Mr. Bunch has assisted in several projects as a consultant.

An expert in his field, Mr. Bunch pursued an education at the Virginia Military Institute, earning a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in 1950. He concluded his studies at the University of Pittsburgh in 1969, graduating with a Master of Science in electrical engineering. In a career filled with highlights, Mr. Bunch is especially pleased of being recognized as a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Throughout his career, Mr. Bunch has contributed his extensive knowledge to published articles on electric utility distribution automation systems. During his retirement, he has provided his voluntary skills and resources to SERVE and the American International Cultural Exchange Institute. Looking toward the future, Mr. Bunch intends to continue enjoying his retirement.
