Dale L. Leppard Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Supported by more than 57 years of practical industry experience, Mr. Leppard has been serving as a corporate jet pilot for various companies since 1996, as well as a simulator instructor on two corporate jets since 2011. Prior to obtaining these roles, he worked as an airline pilot for United Airlines, Eastern Airlines, USAfrica Airways and World Airways for a total of 35 years between 1961 and 1996. Alongside his primary career endeavors, Mr. Leppard has excelled as an accident investigator for several various organizations, where he investigated over 100 accidents and 30 on-scene investigations as an invited party with the National Transportation Safety Board.

Additionally, Mr. Leppard has provided court testimony in over 30 cases and has found success as the Chairman of the Eastern Airlines Accident Committee, the Airline Pilots Association National Accident Investigation Board, and the International Federation of Airline Pilots Association Accident Analysis Committee. Having provided over 500 hours of flight instruction, he was previously authorized to give FAA Airline Transport Ratings and Aircraft-Specific Type Ratings. Currently, Mr. Leppard is qualified to give recurrent check rides, including both FAA Part 91 and Part 135, on two corporate jet aircraft.

The recipient of an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with 14 Type Ratings and a flight instructor certificate, Mr. Leppard is also a certified flight engineer. He has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in physics from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Master of Science in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. During his tenure, Mr. Leppard has contributed myriad articles to professional journals and was invited to speak at two NTSB Safety Conferences. Among his notable achievements, he is also renowned for being an invited speaker at an FAA Safety Conference and at a Japanese Government Air Safety Conference in Tokyo, where he also held the post of conference chairman. Mr. Leppard instructed in the ALPA Accident Investigation School Program, and was also an invited speaker at myriad safety conferences throughout England, Israel, South Africa and New Zealand.

In an effort to remain aware of recent developments within the aerospace industry, Mr. Leppard has maintained affiliation with numerous professional organizations, including the Airline Pilots Association, the International Society of Air Safety Investigators, the International Federation of Airline Pilots Association, the United Flying Octogenarians and the Quiet Birdmen. He is also a member of the American Alpine Club, and a charter member of both the American Motorcycle Association and the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.

In light of his many accomplishments, Mr. Leppard has garnered several awards from the Airline Pilots Association, including the Accident Investigation Award, the Air Safety Outstanding Service Award and the Air Safety Dedicated Service Award. He has also received the Outstanding Contribution to Aviation Safety Award from the Canadian Airline Pilots Association and the Scroll of Merit for Accident Investigation Activities from the IFALPA. Notably, he was presented with the FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award for flying for over 50 years without an accident or major incident. However, Mr. Leppard cites three of the highlights of his career to be when he was interviewed for the television program titled "Air Disasters," where he discussed his involvement in the American Airlines Flight 191 accident in Chicago, and his participation in the analysis and subsequent Federal Court testimony regarding the Pan-Am Lockerbie bombing investigation in 1988, and when he flew US troops to and from Viet Nam during the Tet Offensive in 1968.
