MIDLAND, MI, March 20, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present George A. L. Gant with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Gant celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Desiring to make a unique contribution to help humanity, Mr. Gant began his career with the Dow Corning Corporation, serving as a chemist from 1965 to 1966, a research chemist from 1966 to 1972, a research group leader from 1972 to 1975, a senior supervisor of technical service and development from 1975 to 1977 and the section manager of technical service and development from 1977 to 1979. He further worked for the corporation as a manager of elastomers, technical service and development from 1979 to 1983, a program manager from 1983 to 1986, a product line manager from 1986 to 1987, and a manager of new product commercialization from 1987 to 1990. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Gant excelled as a program manager of special assignments of the Dow Corning Corporation from 1990 to 1999. During this time, he developed two significant programs to accelerate the progress of young eager minds into corporate life. One was called Organizational and Communication Support (OCS) for African Americans, the other was Organizational and Communication Support (OCS) for Women in Engineering. Each of these efforts used a dyad of a senior member of the organization coaching, guiding and mentoring, with an upcoming member of the organization. Each dyad had specific objectives, timelines and goals for the senior and upcoming member to achieve and these were often in support of corporate guidelines.

A frequent instructor and lecturer in his fields both domestically and overseas, Mr. Gant has also contributed his time and expertise to his local community. He has found success with the Adhesives and Sealants Council as a former member of the executive committee, the past president of the education foundation, and the chair of the board of the directors, the president and the chief executive officer since 1992. Throughout his career, he has also remained involved with the Michigan Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Lake Huron Area Council, the Boy Scouts of America, the Salvation Army and the Midland Black Coalition. Furthermore, Mr. Gant has authored myriad articles in professional journals and holds numerous patents.

To prepare for his career, Mr. Gant pursued a formal education at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1962. He continued his studies with a Master of Science in 1965, also at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Following these accomplishments, he obtained a Master of Business Administration from Central Michigan University in 1973. Mr. Gant concluded his academic efforts at Harvard University in 1980, graduating with a Professional Master's Degree.

Among his notable achievements, Mr. Gant is most proud of having held the post of the chairman of the board for several organizations, where he played a role in the encouragement of individuals to accomplish goals that they previously thought they could not achieve. He was further celebrated with an eponymous award named in his honor, entitled the G. A. L. Gant PACE Award. Married with two children, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Mr. Gant enjoys spending his spare time participating in the Church of God.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Mr. Gant has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
