Ms. Williams has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the field of education

Willa Williams is a certified teacher and administrator in the state of California who has long been employed at the Marvin Avenue School in Los Angeles for the past 35 years.

INGLEWOOD, CA, March 21, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Willa Williams with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Williams celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Williams is a certified teacher and administrator in the state of California who has long been employed at the Marvin Avenue School in Los Angeles for the past 35 years. Hired in 1983 as a fourth-grade teacher of bilingual education, grade level chairman and integration coordinator, during her tenure she has notably served on the community advisory council and as an elementary intern for the district administrative internship program. She has also been teaching in Los Angeles, CA, since 1957.

During her tenure, Ms. Williams has been active as a member of the Los Comunicadores, the National Association of University Women, and the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, among others. She has also been locally involved with the United Way for many years, having served as the chairman of the organization's Project Esteem, and was a member of the administrative council and board of directors for St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Los Angeles.

Beginning her career during a time of inequality, Ms. Williams recalls the struggles of integrating African American students with Caucasian students on the school bus. Through it all, however, she has enjoyed many more positive experiences than negative ones. A true inspiration to so many students over the years, Ms. Williams was honored with an Outstanding Service Award from the Marvin Avenue Parent Teacher Organization in 1982.

Inspired to become an educator by a group of teachers at her church who taught in the Los Angeles Unified School District, Ms. William said that they motivated and guided her in the right path. Attending night school to obtain her degrees, she is forever grateful for their advice and wisdom. She has held an Associate of Arts from Los Angeles City College since 1954, Bachelor of Arts from California State University since 1957, and Master of Arts from Azusa Pacific University since 1979.

In 1982, Ms. Williams received a United Way Service Award. She maintains membership with the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., Beta Chapter, Compton, CA., and served as president of Soror Daphne Moss. She has also been cited in the 20th edition of Who's Who in the West.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Willa Williams has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
