Diane Papafagos Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

After accruing 25 years of professional excellence, Ms. Papafagos retired from her role as an executive secretary and security specialist with Lockheed Martin in Riviera Beach, Florida. Earlier in her career, she gained valuable expertise as a secretary with the Sweet Home Central School District in Amherst, New York, and as an executive secretary with the Research Triangle Institute International in Triangle Park, North Carolina. Now that she is retired, she makes it a point to give back to others through the Tropical Orchid Society, American Orchid Society, the Mounts Botanical Garden of Palm Beach, the local Christian Club, United Way Worldwide and the Raleigh Women's Bowling Association.

A graduate of the Mount Saint Joseph's Academy in Amherst, NY, Ms. Papafagos is especially proud of the awards she has been honored with over the years, including the Excel Award for Outstanding Performance, which she was awarded through Lockheed Martin, Sportsmanship of the Year Awards from the Women's Center of Wake County and the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award from the Research Triangle International Visitors Center, now known as International Focus Inc. In 1987, she was also given the Award of Appreciation from the United States Olympic Committee. She is the author of "An Easy Computer Guide for Seniors and Beginners." She is most proud of creating The Showtime Club of Cypress Lakes in 2009 and serving as its treasurer for 10 years.

Looking forward, Ms. Papafagos intends to continue giving back to her community.
