Costante John DiCara Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    EL PASO, TX, March 26, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Costante John DiCara with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. DiCara celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. In 1950, Mr. DiCara earned a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, following this accomplishment with a Master of Arts from the University of Connecticut in 1952. He also completed postgraduate work at the London School of Economics in England in 1965 and the American University in Washington, D.C., in 1969. After working as an economist at the Connecticut Department of Labor in 1952, the New York City Conference Board in 1953 and the New York Stock Exchange from 1954 to 1958, Mr. DiCara went on to work for the United States Agency for International Development as a Foreign Service officer and economist. As his career progressed, he also worked for the United States Department of State as an aid coordinator, the CIA as a senior area economist, the Church World Service as a refugee program officer and El Paso Community College as a coordinator in continuing education.

Demonstrating commitment to academic advancement, Mr. DiCara recently served as a part-time instructor in economics undergraduate and graduate programs at the University of Texas at El Paso. He also worked as a lecturer in area of economics for the National War College from 1973 to 1976. Interested in community development, Mr. DiCara served as president of the El Paso Children's Choir from 1993 to 1995 and as a volunteer instructor for the El Paso Opportunity Center for the Homeless from 1993 to 1995 as well. Mr. DiCara was notably featured in the 23rd edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest.

Though he was initially interested in the priesthood, Mr. DiCara ultimately decided to join the United States Foreign Service and help people through secular means. While working for the state department, he was often consulted by the British minister of overseas development and the then future president of Germany for advice on helping developing countries. He currently belongs to the Rio Grande Economics Association and the Texas Administrators of Community Colleges, among other prominent organizations.
