KANPUR, UTTAR PRADESH, INDIA, April 01, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Kasturi Vasudevan, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Vasudevan celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Vasudevan has been teaching at his alma mater, Indian Institute of Technology, in Kanpur, India, for the past 18 years. Hired in 2001 as an assistant professor, he since became an associate professor in 2008, where he has been instructing a variety of engineering courses. Prior to his tenure on campus, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland, between 1999 and 2000 and an assistant executive engineer at the Indian Telephone Industries Ltd. in Bangalore, India, between 1991 and 1992.

Enjoying the many rewards his career has to offer, Dr. Vasudevan became an educator because he has always been interested in both teaching and research. An expert in telecommunications and signal processing, he was responsible for guiding 81 MTech students and supervising four Ph.D. students. He also served on various committees and boards at the Indian Institute of Technology. He was a convener for the department of undergraduate committee and the department of timetable committee, and was member of the long-term planning and review committee and the postgraduate committee. He has been a member of the department of undergraduate committee since 2018.

Dr. Vasudevan has spoken numerous times at conferences on such topics as data detection in single user massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna systems, with re-transmissions and coherent turbo coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). He also chaired three sessions at conferences during his career. In 2016, he chaired a special session, "MAAZE: Wireless Communications: The March towards Absolute Zero," at the 12th international conference on wireless and mobile communications in Barcelona, Spain. He previously chaired a session on communication and signal processing at an international conference on communication, image and signal processing in Dubai, also in 2016, as well as a session on coding techniques at the IASTED international conference on communication systems and applications in Banff, Canada, in 2004.

During his career, Dr. Vasudevan authored three books: "Digital Communications and Signal Processing," "Basic Electronics: Problems and Solutions" and "Analog Communications: Problems and Solutions." He also developed algorithms for the discrete-time transmission and reception of digitally modulated signals and for the physical layer of telecommunication systems. Furthermore, he was responsible for proving that the minimum average signal-to-noise ratio per bit for error-free transmission over fading channels is identical to that of the additive white Gaussian noise channel, which is equal to -1.6 decibels.

Dr. Vasudevan is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and an elected fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers (IETE) in India. He was notably the recipient of a Student Travel Grant through the IEEE for his paper "DSP-Based Noncoherent Detectors for Multilevel Signals in Flat Fading Channels" in 1998. Dr. Vasudevan has been included in the second edition of Who's Who in Asia, as well as several editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the World.

Earning all three of his degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology in India, Dr. Vasudevan first completed a Bachelor of Technology in electronics and electrical communications engineering, with honors, in 1991. He later received a Master of Science in electrical engineering in 1996 and a Doctor of Philosophy in electrical engineering in 2000.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Kasturi Vasudevan, Ph.D., has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
