Supported by more than 55 years of professional excellence, Mr. Jennings serves as the leader of the Life Force Jazz Ensemble and director of Jazz Mass at Church of The Incarnation in Atlanta, GA. Earlier in his career, he joined Jackson Public Schools and Clark College as an instructor. Over the years, he gained valuable expertise through his work with the Johnny Taylor Blues Band as a saxophonist, the Neighborhood Arts Center as an artist-in-residence, the Duke Pearson Band as a saxophonist and Spelman College as the founder and director of the Spelman Jazz Band and coordinator of jazz studies. Though his career has been filled with highlights, he is especially proud of having students who have gone on to be successful.

An expert in his field, Mr. Jennings holds a Bachelor of Music from Southern University and a Master of Music Education from the University of Illinois. In order to remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the National Association of Musicians, the Atlanta Federation of Musicians, the Atlanta Creative Music Association, where he sits as president, the Southern Arts Federation and the National Association of Jazz Educators. With a plethora of expertise at his disposal, he composed and produced such recordings as "Fearless Warrior," "Facing Mount Kenya" and "Tula Baba." In addition, he was a music producer and performer at the 1996 Olympic Games.

In light of his professional achievements, Mr. Jennings was honored with an Outstanding Service Award from the International Association for Jazz Education, the African American Classical Music Award, the WRFG Music Award, the MAMA Stella Award, and three features in Who's Who in Entertainment. In addition, he won the Presidents Outstanding Service Award from Spelman College, the Mayors Fellowship for the Arts and the Key to the City of Birmingham, AL. Most recently, he was the recipient of the Jazz Journalist Hero Award in 2014. In the coming years, Mr. Jennings intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career.
