Dorothy Alice L. Gregory retired from her role as a nursing educator and administrative assistant to the chief nursing officer of Springs Memorial Hospital in 2003.

After accruing more than 35 years of professional experience in nursing, Ms. Gregory retired from her role as a nursing educator and administrative assistant to the chief nursing officer of Springs Memorial Hospital in 2003. She previously served the hospital as a critical care nurse manager of the Intensive Care Unit, medical surgical nurse manager and acting chief nursing officer between 1994 and 1998. At the inception of her career, she worked as a staff nurse, head nurse and critical care nurse manager in the Intensive Care Unit for Elliot White Springs Hospital between 1967 and 1994.

Certified in basic and advanced cardiac life support, Ms. Gregory holds an Associate of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina and became a critical care registered nurse. To remain abreast of changes in the field, she maintained affiliation with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. With a plethora of knowledge at her disposal, she developed the Critical Care Nurse Skills Assessment Plan and Practice Lab on behalf of Springs Memorial Hospital in 1994.

In light of her professional accomplishments, Ms. Gregory was featured in the fourth and fifth editions of Who's Who in American Nursing, published in 1991 and 1993, respectively.
