Daniel Earl Posey was honored in 1981 with a Technical Service Award from the American Convertors Research and Development.

Mr. Posey is a retired chemist and operations manager who spent the last six years of his career with Cerium Labs LLC in Austin, TX. During his 42-year tenure in the field, he spent many years with Advanced Micro Devices in Austin beginning in 1988, where he served as a supervisor of quality engineering, section manager, member of the technical staff and senior member of the technical staff. He was also a consultant chemist for Spectro Chem, Inc., technical director at the Institute for Research, Inc., laboratory manager at American Convertors and the Institute for Research, Inc., and research technician at Getty Oil Company Exploration and Production Research Laboratories.

Responsible for developing a patent for a cleaning product that removes mold and mildew composition, Mr. Posey also invented the first lint particle generation test method for nonwoven fabrics and the first antimicrobial surgical fabric. He has contributed numerous technical papers to various scholarly journals as result of his research and has had the pleasure of mentoring several young chemists throughout his career as well.

An elected fellow of the American Institute of Chemists, Mr. Posey is also a longstanding member of the American Chemical Society, the American Society for Quality Control, the Hill Country Astronomers and Phi Eta Sigma.

Honored in 1981 with a Technical Service Award from the American Convertors Research and Development, Mr. Posey soon after received a Technical Management Award from the organization in 1982. The American Men and Women of Science also honored him with a Certificate of Achievement Award in 1986. He has been cited in numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in the World. Mr. Posey has notably held a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Houston since 1970.

Born in Corpus Christi, TX, Mr. Posey got his first taste of chemistry while in high school. Earning the opportunity to participate in a program with several other students conducted by the Humble Oil (Exxon), Mr. Posey attended the laboratory one night per week to engage in chemical experiments and learn all about the technical field. Married for 50 years to his wife Mary Jewell King, Mr. Posey has two children and four grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys studying astronomy. He has also been volunteering at his local food pantry since 2010.
