Donna R. Koehnke Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Donna R. Koehnke was appointed to the role of Secretary of the United States International Trade Commission, serving in that role from 1993 to 2002, the date of her retirement.

Deciding to enter the workforce after her children graduated from high school, Ms. Koehnke took a civil service examination and earned exceptional marks. Contacted by both the CIA and the Federal Communications Commission, she accepted the offer from the FCC. In 1988, she was appointed to the office of Secretary of the Federal Communications Commission, and held the office for five years, where she accrued numerous accolades in light of her outstanding work in that position. She was then appointed to the role of Secretary of the United States International Trade Commission, serving in that role from 1993 to 2002, the date of her retirement. Ms. Koehnke cites this appointment and the subsequent honors she received to be the ultimate highlights of her career.

Civically involved as well, Ms. Koehnke was a former election officer for 17 years and has been serving as a board member of Cutting Edge Ministries since 2012. Alongside this role, she has volunteered for Fauquier Health Hospital since 2013. She attributes her profound success to her abilities in management and willingness to go the extra mile to accomplish her daily tasks. In addition, Ms. Koehnke holds a natural affinity for working diligently and fairly with her employees.

Married with six children, Ms. Koehnke is also the grandmother of seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A native of Gorman, Texas, she currently resides in Warrenton, Virginia, and enjoys golfing and reading in her spare time. Furthermore, Ms. Koehnke holds an Associate of Applied Sciences from Northern Virginia Community College in Springfield, and graduated summa cum laude in 1986.
