Ms. Hienton is a past member of the section of court staff attorneys and a nominating committee member of the American Bar Association.

Throughout her career, Ms. Hienton has contributed to articles in various legal journals. Prior to embarking on her career, she earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Hawaii in 1971 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Arizona State University in 1975. Ms. Hienton was licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Arizona in 1975.
