CUSHING, ME, April 11, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Anthony Frederick Antolini, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Antolini celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Growing up in a home where church music was the soundtrack to his childhood, Dr. Antolini knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in music. Inspired by his grandmother, a professional pianist, and several dedicated teachers, he has pursued his career with passion, intention and integrity, for more than five decades. Today, he wears many hats throughout the State of Maine, inspiring those around him through music. Dr. Antolini is the artistic director of Down East Singers in Rockport, director of the Bowdoin Chorus at Bowdoin College in Brunswick and director of music at the Episcopal Church of St. John Baptist in Thomaston.

In addition, Dr. Antolini is an instructor at the New England Suzuki Institute at St. Joseph's College in Standish, Maine, conductor of the Mozart Mentors Orchestra and pre-concert lecturer for Portland Ovations and Bay Chamber Concerts. Earlier in his career he served as director of music at St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Menlo Park, California, and as an instructor in music and foreign languages (German and Russian) at Cabrillo College in Aptos, California. He has also been a guest conductor with University College, Dublin, Ireland, music director of Lincoln Festival Chorus in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, and acting department chair of the Department of Music at Bowdoin College. Additionally, Dr. Antolini has served as co-chair of the Liturgy Committee for the Episcopal Diocese of Maine and member of the board of directors of the Lincoln Street Center of the Arts and Education in Rockland, Maine. He is currently a board member of the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Maine.

Dr. Antolini's editions of choral music are published by E.C. Schirmer Music Publishing Co. and Paraclete Press. Each edition contains historical information, a guide to the pronunciation of the words, and a "singing" translation in English that permits the choir to sing the work either in its original language or in translation. He has specialized in making the choral works of Sergei Rachmaninoff available in bilingual editions. Other composers published include Bortniansky, Chesnokov, Cui, Ippolitov-Ivanov, Berezovsky, Kedrov, Lvovsky, Tchaikovsky, Kastalsky, Makarov, Titov, Vedel, Panchenko, Arensky, Shipovalnikov and Roberts. His research articles have appeared in The Choral Journal, The Journal of the Association of Anglican Musicians and The American Organist. He has been a featured presenter at national and regional conventions of the American Choral Directors Association.

Looking back over his career, Dr. Antolini notes that the highlight of his achievements was taking an American choir on tour in the Soviet Union in 1988, when he brought Rachmaninoff's Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom to Russian audiences who had never heard the piece sung before because it had been banned for decades. This tour was the inspiration for a documentary created for American Public Television entitled "Rediscovering Rachmaninoff," by KTEH in San Jose, California. Furthermore, during the same period of time, Dr. Antolini published the first bilingual edition of this Rachmaninoff masterpiece.

Prior to embarking on his career, Dr. Antolini pursued an education a Bowdoin College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1963. Following this accomplishment, he earned a Master of Arts degree in Russian from Stanford University in Stanford, California, in 1965. Continuing his studies at Stanford University, Dr. Antolini obtained a second Master of Arts degree in music in 1972 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Slavic Studies in 1975.

Dr. Antolini has been honored by a number of prominent institutions and societies. He was elected Conductor of the Year by the Maine Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. He was awarded a Distinguished Alumni Medal from Moscow State University in Russia, a Polar Bear Award for service to Bowdoin College, an Alumni Award for Faculty and Staff from Bowdoin College, and a Certificate of Outstanding Achievement from Stanford University. His awards for foreign teaching and study include a Fulbright Scholarship Award for teaching at Gnessin State Musical Academy in Moscow, an International Research Exchange Fellowship for study at Moscow State University and a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship for study at the University of Warsaw, Poland.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Antolini has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
