    CHICAGO, IL, April 15, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Margaret McCurry with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. McCurry celebrates many years of experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. With more than 50 years of professional experience since 1982, Ms. McCurry has served as a principal in the architectural and design firm of Tigerman McCurry Architects whose archives now reside in the Burnham Library of the Art Institute of Chicago. Prior to her current role, she excelled as an architect in her private practice, Margaret I, from 1977 to 1982, and as a senior interior designer with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill from 1966 to 1977. Earlier in her career, Ms. McCurry served as a design coordinator with the Quaker Oats Company from 1964 to 1966.

Ms. McCurry began her career as a student at Vassar College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1964. After obtaining some experience in the field, she returned to her studies with the Harvard Graduate School of Design as a Loeb Fellow, graduating with a degree in advanced environmental studies in 1987. She is a registered interior designer in the state of Illinois, and a licensed architect in the states of Illinois and Michigan, with NCARB registration.

A respected voice in her industry, Ms. McCurry has been an active leader in her community. Appointed to the Women's Board at the University of Chicago, she also serves on the boards of the Textile Committee and the Architecture and Design Society at the Art Institute of Chicago. A Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and the International Interior Design Association, Ms. McCurry has also served on the boards of the Chicago Chapter of the AlA and the Harvard Alumni Association. She has been past president of the Harvard Club Chicago, and Chair of the Alumni Council of the GSD as well as the National Committee on Design of the AIA.

A member of the International Women's Forum, she is a life member of The Arts Club of Chicago and The Chicago Network. Two pictorial monographs chronical her oeuvre: Margaret McCurry: Constructing Twenty-Five Short Stories and Distillations: The Architecture of Margaret McCurry.

Throughout her career, Ms. McCurry has been recognized for her contributions. The recipient of Honor Awards for Design from the AIA, ASID and IIDA, she is a member of the Interior Design Hall of Fame, been named an "Icon of Design "by Traditional Home Magazine and "Designer of Distinction" by ASID. Ms. McCurry has been featured in numerous publications, including Architectural Digest, Architecture, and Architectural Record's Record Houses as well as multiple editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
