With nearly 30 years of practiced industry experience, Mr. Osborne most recently served as the president and chief executive officer of National Auto Truckstops, Inc., in Nashville, TN, from 1992 until his retirement from the industry in 1997. Earlier in his career, he honed his skills in the field through various sales and planning positions between 1968 and 1974. From there, he gained valuable expertise through marketing, planning and sales management positions with Union Oil Company of California (Unocal 76) and The Uno-Ven Company, where he was named vice president of marketing and member of its board of directors in 1989, holding the roles for three years. Additionally, he served as special assistant to the Chairman of the United States International Trade Commission in Washington, DC, from 1982 to 1983.
An expert in his field, Mr. Osborne holds a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Master of Arts from the University of West Georgia. He also completed programs in business administration, oil and gas through Northwestern University. In order to remain abreast of changes in the field, he was affiliated with the American Trucking Association, the National Association of Truck Stop Operators, the Petroleum Marketers Association of America and the Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America. In addition, he has sat on the board of directors of the Petroleum Marketing Education Foundation and earlier sat on the board of directors for NASCAR's Darlington International Speedway.
In light of his professional accomplishments, Mr. Osborne earned features in the 49th through 53rd editions of Who's Who in America. A veteran of the United States Army, he is happily married and has three children and six grandchildren. Enjoying golfing and reading in his spare time, he cites working as vice president of The Uno-Ven Company as the absolute highlight of his career.
