Ilene Schneider Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Ilene Schneider was honored early in her career with a Clarion Award from the Association for Women in Communcations in 1978.

Ms. Schneider is a talented journalist and public relations professional who has been in the business for close to 50 years. Originally employed as an editor for the Cleveland edition of TV Guide Magazine in 1972 just out of college, she later worked for the School Product News Magazine, which was owned by Penton/IPC, as both an associate and contributing editor for another 14 years. During her years with the magazine, she simultaneously worked as a senior public relations representative for Beckman Instruments, Inc., in Fullerton, CA, between 1978 and 1985. Ms. Schneider also established her own business in 1980 as proprietor of Schneider the Writer Communications Service in Irvine, CA, which she still maintains today.

Schneider the Writer Communications Service offers the dedication of an employee with the connections and sophistication of a big agency. Providing on-time, on-target and cost-effective traditional and electronic public relations and long-form technical writing projects, her company offers communications for health care, high technology and service enterprises. Some of Ms. Schneider's services include press releases, advertisements, web content, brochure copy, technical and general articles, annual report copy, grant proposals and technical documentation. Blessed to be in business for as long as she has, it has been a dream come true for Ms. Schneider to be able to successfully make the transition from corporate employee to independent consultant at just 35 years old.

In addition to her consulting business, Ms. Schneider has worked as an editor for Orange County Jewish Life and for Kosher OC. She has contributed many articles to various professional journals over the years, was a bulletin editor for Temple Beth Sholom and a media coordinator for the Rothschild for Mayor Campaign in University Heights, OH. Outside of her field, she has lent her time as an assistant coordinator of a seminar series called "Youth in Politics" at Dyke College in Cleveland, OH, and was the secretary for the 22nd Congressional District Caucus in Cleveland. A member and past president of the Orange County chapter of the Association for Women in Communications, Ms. Schneider was a longtime member of the Public Relations Society of America.

Ms. Schneider was honored early in her career with a Clarion Award from the Association for Women in Communcations in 1978. The awards symbolized excellence in clear, concise communications. Clarion recipients represent media companies large and small, leading corporations, small businesses and non-profit associations and institutions. She has been cited in the first edition of Who's Who in the Media and Communications for 1998-1999 and the 15th edition of Who's Who of American Women for 1987-1988. She has since also received a Congregant of the Year by Temple Beth Sholom in 2005, Young Leadership Award from Hadassah in 2007 and a Centennial Award from Hadassah in 2013. Ms. Schneider received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Pennsylvania in 1971.

Born in Cleveland, Ms. Schneider has been married to her husband Bruce J. Schneider, DPM, since 1975 and has one child, Liora Ponseggi. She enjoys various spectator sports and loves to sing, dance and read.
