After earning a Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah in 1950, Ms. Fox Thorum Jacobsen Skidmore Wilson went on to complete postgraduate coursework at the university, as well as at the University of Southern California, the University of California, Irvine, and the University of Cambridge. Interested in communication from an early age, she has cultivated a lifelong interest in the professional area, drawing upon experience in writing, theatre, radio, television and teaching. Recognized internationally for her occupational contributions, Ms. Fox Thorum Jacobsen Skidmore Wilson has taught at Pepperdine University, Westminster College, Brigham Young University, Colorado Mountain College and the Mountainwest College of Business. She has also served as administrative assistant at the Toastmasters International Headquarters, promotional coordinator for the Utah Bicentennial Project, human resources developer for Oran, Algeria, consultant at Hema U.S.A., guest director and writer for Cablevision, and lecturer and playwright for Salt Lake County Aging Services.

In addition to her accomplishments as a public relations and communications executive, Ms. Fox Thorum Jacobsen Skidmore Wilson has served as associate editor of the Utah Symphony newsletter and newsletter editor for the National Auditor's Association. She has contributed articles to newspapers in California, Norway, Colorado and Utah and has authored several poems, including contributions to the International Library of Poetry. Her writing also includes the book and lyrics to "They Came to Union Fort," several newsletters and such musicals as "Shadows," "Danish Dreams" and "A Perfect Picture." Due to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Fox Thorum Jacobsen Skidmore Wilson has been the recipient of numerous awards in her industry, including awards distributed by the National Federation of Press Women in Washington, DC, and a first place award for managing a foreign newspaper. She also received a Best Director statue, two Top Editor's awards from California Press Women and the Colorado Oscar Award for Best Director, among other honors.

In addition, Ms. Fox Thorum Jacobsen Skidmore Wilson has acted with the Taylorsville Arts Council and has served as a guest director with Westminster Theatre. She also served as organizer for the Stavanger Theatre Guild and Workshops in 1977, co-chair in advertising for the Utah Symphony Guild's winter and summer fundraisers from 1988 to 1999, consultant for the Cottonwood Heights Council from 1982 to 1983 and organizer for the Bookcliffs Arts and Humanities Council from 1984 to 1986, along with several other contributions to local arts organizations. Often serving in leadership positions, Ms. Fox Thorum Jacobsen Skidmore Wilson is a member of the League of Women Voters, the Public Relations Society of America, Utah Press Women, the Instrument Society of America, Friendship Force Utah, the International Platform Association, the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, the Babcock Performing Readers, the UN Association of Utah and the Utah Storytelling Guild, among other professionally-relevant organizations.
