Sophie Snell Packard Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

In 2012 Sophie Snell Packard was honored with a Natchitoches Treasure Award for her community work.

An accomplished listee, Ms. Packard celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Prior to embarking upon her professional path, Ms. Packard pursued an education at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA, earning a Bachelor of Arts and an Educational Specialist degree in elementary teaching and reading. She later began her career as a teacher and a supervisor for the aforementioned university. Civically, Ms. Packard has maintained her involvement with the Lov'n Care Mission in Natchitoches, LA as a co-director between 1996 and 2006.

To remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Packard is a member of the Retired Teachers of Louisiana, Lions Club International, the Order of the Eastern Star, Phi Delta Kappa, and Delta Gamma Kappa. As a testament to her accomplishments in the field, she has been presented with the Presidential Point of Light Award, the Distinguished Clinician of the Year Award, the Outstanding Elementary Cooperating Teacher of Year Award, and the Lions Lifetime Award, among others. In addition, in 2012 she was honored with a Natchitoches Treasure Award for her community work. Ms. Packard has also been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.

Ms. Packard received a certification from the Gesell Institute of Human Growth and Development which further helped her excel in her career. Outside of her career, she enjoys playing the piano and gardening in her spare time. Happily married to her husband, Hyland D. Packard, for 64 years, Ms. Packard has proudly welcomed two living children, Michelle and Michael, and seven grandchildren into her family.
