Geng Long Hsu, MD, Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

An accomplished listee, Dr. Hsu celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Dr. Hsu was a postdoctoral research fellow at the School of Medicine of the University of California, San Francisco, from 1991 to 1992. He held the position of Chair of Urology at Taiwan Adventist Hospital from 1992 to 1997, vice-superintendent at Po-Jen General hospital from 1997 to 2002, and, subsequently a director of microsurgery potency reconstruction at Taipei Medical University from 2001 to 2003. After 2003, he established his private practice at Hsu's Andrology in Taipei, Taiwan. Dr. Hsu documents and shares his clinical experience on penile reconstruction, particularly of penile venous stripping, penile curvature correction, and penile enhancement via various academic channels.

Well-known for his research in penile tunica albuginea, penile erection related venous anatomy and clinical applications, including penile corporoplasty, corporeal and glans enhancement in patients who undergo penile implant. Dr. Hsu has also conducted studies in penile venous anatomy, fibroskeleton anatomical revolution, apagogical erection physiology via hemodynamic studies on fresh and defrosted human cadavers from 2002 to 2013 and its clinically reconstructive application, including penile venous stripping which has honorably been patented by the USPTO in 2012 and venous patched surgery. Furthermore, he has conducted extensive research on penile anatomy and clinical devices. As a result of his work, he has authored and co-authored many articles and scientific papers to various scholarly journals and academic platforms such as the Encyclopedia of reproduction 2nd edition 2018 including five chapters on Erection Abnormality, Penis Structure, Penis Structure—Erection, penis endocrinology and Vascular Surgery for Erectile Dysfunction.

Prior to becoming a physician and researcher, Dr. Hsu headed the department of quality control at I-The Lock Corporation in Tainan, Taiwan, in 1977 and was a mechanic and lecturer for the Chinese Army Aviation in Tainan from 1971 to 1977. He has also been a member and editor for the Taipei Medical Association from 2002 to 2007. Dr. Hsu is a longstanding member of the American Society of Andrology, the Taiwan Urological Association and his local Rotary Club.

Honored with several accolades, Dr. Hsu more recently received an award from the Third World Congress on Controversies in Urology in 2010. He also received a Jean-Paul Ginestie Prize and a Herbert Newman Prize from the International Society of Impotence Research 5th world meeting in 1992 although the latter one was nulled eventually. He has been showcased in the first edition of Who's Who in Asia, the fifth through eighth editions of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, the ninth edition of Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and six different editions of Who's Who in the World.

Dr. Hsu received a Bachelor of Arts in business from National Cheng Kung University in 1978 and a Doctor of Medicine from National Taiwan University in 1985. He then completed a residency in urology at National Taiwan University Hospital from 1985 to 1989. When Dr. Hsu is not busy working, he enjoys various activities, such as badminton and table tennis. He also loves writing Chinese poetry and hiking.
