FARMINGTON, UT, April 30, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present John H. Cox with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Cox celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A native of Surrey, England, Mr. Cox's fascination with aircraft developed after learning that his grandfather built fighter aircraft that were used during World War I in England in 1917. At the age of 16, he applied for an apprenticeship with British Airways, which he completed eight years later in 1965. Subsequently, Mr. Cox received a diploma in aeronautical engineering and Charter Engineer status from Southall College of Technology in London, England later that year.

Mr. Cox commenced his career as assistant chief engineer of Cambrian Airways (an associated company of British Airways) in England from 1965 to 1970. Shortly after, he was transferred to British Airways proper where he served as managing director of the engineering base in Wales, further progressing to chief engineer of the regional division in England from 1970 until his departure in 1977. Mr. Cox then decided to shift careers by accepting the role of director for temporal affairs for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Great Britain in 1977.

While working with the church, Mr. Cox was given the opportunity to relocate to Salt Lake City in the United States in 1983, where he supervised temporal affairs throughout the world. Later he served as the first director of international welfare services until his retirement in 2003. During this time, he established the humanitarian services department of the Church that provided relief to individuals who suffered from disasters worldwide. Other efforts to his credit include developing irrigation systems in Africa, supplying resources to correct clef pallets issues with children, flying in dentists from various countries to perform dental work for the less fortunate, and donating school supplies and other necessities.

As a licensed airline engineer, Mr. Cox maintained membership with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, the Royal Aeronautical Society and the British Institute of Management. In a career filled with accomplishments, he is proud to have been one of the directors who contributed to the merger of three other airlines that created British Airways in 1974. Outside of work, Mr. Cox enjoys landscape photography in his spare time and has a portfolio with Getty Images.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Mr. Cox has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
