Although his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Akiyama is especially proud of the discovery of ren-shen-yang-rong-tang, a Chinese herbal drug that stimulates hematopoises and Cu/Zn-SOD, a human antioxidant enzyme that is a new oxidative stress marker of hemodialysis patients.
